7 C's of Communication
The 7 C's of an effective communication are Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete, and Courteous. The absence of these 7 C’s can lead to miscommunication.
1. Clear
Clarity is ensuring what you’re saying is communicated clearly and with no room for misunderstanding.
2. Concise
Use of simple words and short sentences are more likely to keep the attention of the listener, so try to use as little words as possible to communicate your message.
3. Concrete
A concrete message is the use of exact facts and figures.
4. Correct
Correctness means keeping your language free of mistakes, whether that’s grammatical, spelling, or other inaccuracies.
5. Coherent
Coherent conversation should make sense and relate to main topics in order to make it easier to understand.
6. Complete
Complete communication ensures the audience has all the information they need, and are able to easily come to the desired conclusion.
7. Courteous
It is important to be polite and respectful of your audience. You should also be transparent, open, and honest, and be happy to answer any questions, if applicable.
